Continuation of the series of photos of the archaeologial zone of Ostia Antica, near Rome. Here, views, including some panoramics, of the city's theatre, built around 12 BC, with a capacity of 3000 spectators. In image 13, some masks and the Temple of Ceres (Tempio di Cerere), at the Foro delle Corporazioni. In 15, remains of a wall of one of the public baths (thermae), close to the temple of Rome and Augustus.

Ostia está ubicada en la desembocadura del río Tiber al mar, y fue la ciudad puerto de la antigua Roma (Ostia significa "boca"), pero debido a un descenso en el nivel del mar, ahora se encuentra a 3 km de la costa. En la imagen 01, el Castillo de Julio II (un papa del siglo XV) y la Decumanus Maximus, calle principal de la parte oriente de la zona arqueológica. En la esq. sup. der. de 02, uno de los nichos en la Vía de las Tumbas (Via delle Tombe); debajo, la inscripción que se encontraba originalmente en la puerta principal de la ciudad. Here begins a series of entries with photos of the Ostia Antica archaeological site, in Italy. Ostia ("mouth") is located at the mouth of the river Tiber, and was ancient Rome's harbour city, but due to a drop in the sea level, now lies 3 km from the coast. In image 01, the Castle of Julius II (a pope of the 15th century), and the Decumanus Maximus, main street of the East side of the archaeologial site. In the upper right part of 02, a view at the Via delle Tombe (Road of Tombs); below it, the inscription that was originally on the main gate of the city. In 04 one can see that many places still have the original mosaic floors; also in 04, porticos (Portici) along a street. In 05, views of the exterior of the Baths of Neptune (Terme di Nettuno). En la imagen 24, columna en la Plaza de la Santa Trinidad (Piazza Santa Trinita), con el museo del diseñador Salvatore Ferragamo detrás, a su derecha; también en 24, la fachada del Monasterio e Iglesia de San Marcos, y una vista hacia el Domo del Brunelleschi desde la Plaza de la Santísima Anunciada. Continues the series of photos of Florence, Italy. In images 19, 20 and 21, the Arno river. In 19, a part of the Corridoio Vasariano (Vasari's Corridor), built in 1565. In 20 and 21, the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), one of Florence's most famous landmarks; currently it's occupied by jewelries and souvenir shops, but in medieval times it was butchers who had their shops here; its origins are believed to be at roman times.
