Its current height is 42 metres, but its summit is at almost equal height as that of the Pyramid of the Sun, because (the Moon's one) sits on higher ground. La Pirámide es la 3a más grande del mundo, con casi 70 metros de altura, y lados que miden más de 200 m en su base (casi lo mismo que la Gran Pirámide de Giza); como puede leerse en la imagen 07, se cree ahora que la Pirámide del Sol pudo en realidad estar dedicada a Tláloc, el dios azteca del agua, la lluvia y la fertilidad. In this entry, views of the Pyramid of the Sun, located here, over the East side of the Avenue of the Dead (which has more than 3 km, or 2 miles, in length, with the southern end not yet explored). The Pyramid is the world's 3rd largest, being almost 70 metres high, and with sides over 200 m long at the base (almost the same size as the Great Pyramid of Giza); as can be read in image 07, it is now believed that the Pyramid of the Sun might actually have been dedicated to Tláloc, the aztec god of water, rain and fertility.
